(1) What is Power Apps: Microsoft Power Apps is a development platform that provides to build custom apps as per the business requirements. In Power Apps, we can quickly develop business apps that connect to your data stored in Microsoft Dataverse or other online and on-perm data sources like Excel, SQL, SharePoint, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and so on. (2) Components of Power Apps: Power Apps has four components.

  • Canvas Apps: By using this component, we can develop a good quality interface as per the business need. This component provides flexibility to arrange the user experience and interface the way you want. We can create canvas apps from Data, Sample, Dataverse Source, Blank Canvas, and App Source. Dragged and Dropped onto a canvas, data sources are connected to the app via Excel-style formulas. Suitable for apps with simple business logic.
  • Model-driven Apps: This component auto-generates UI. You can use all the power of the Dataverse to rapidly configure your forms, business rules, and process flows. You create a model-driven app from the Power Apps site. Suitable for complex apps. This allows the power and flexibility of a canvas experience within the model-driven app. Custom pages allow.
    • Full control over page layout.
    • Out-of-box controls and custom components.
    • Power Apps connectors.
    • Low-code authoring.
  • Cards (preview): Cards (preview) are micro-apps with light UI that can be used across multiple applications that doesn’t require any coding. You can quickly design and develop cards.
  • Microsoft Dataverse: Microsoft Dataverse is the data platform that comes with Power Apps and allows you to store business data. It’s the platform on which Dynamics 365 apps (such as Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Marketing, and Project Service Automation) are built.
